The David Rothrock Endowment Fund
About David Rothrock
When David Rothrock founded L’Arche Tahoma Hope with Fr. Peter Byrne, Greg Hanon and Fred Kobel in 1977, he envisioned a community where people with disabilities and their caregivers lived together in a spirit of faith and friendship.
Through much love, hard work and grace, the community flourished. David now lives in Africa withhis wife and two children, yet the fruits of his vision and his faithfulness have made L’Arche Tahoma Hope what it is today. To honor David’s many gifts to our community, as well as his commitment to looking ahead, we established the David Rothrock Endowment Fund for L’Arche Tahoma Hope.
What is an Endowment Fund?
An endowment fund helps provide for the continuing support of an organization. The endowment principal is placed in safe investments, and the interest accrued is used as income for the organization. Limits are set on withdrawing from the endowment principal to ensure the stability of the endowment fund.
Thus, contributions to endowment funds are lasting gifts that help provide an ongoing source of revenue. The greater the principal amount in an endowment fund, the more income an organization is able to earn each year.
If you are interested in restricting your donation to the David Rothrock Endowment Fund, you can simply write "Endowment Fund" on the memo of your check in the field provided for designating a donation at JustGive.org.
