2008 Annual Auction
Thank you to all who helped make our 200 Auction, “Passport to Possibilites” another celebration to remember. Once again, the event proved to be fun for all, and we brought in over $61,000...great work considering we were in a much smaller venue this year. To all of you who helped with everything from displaying items to selling tickets - THANK YOU!!
And of course, an auction wouldn’t exist without items to auction off and people to purchase them. Your faithfulness as auction donors and attendees does not go unnoticed, and we hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did!
Our underwriters are such an integral part of our success since their generosity enables more of the money raised at the auction to go toward our operating budget. All of our community seats were sponsored as well, allowing strong attendance at the auction from our homes.
Special thanks goes to:
Passport Sponsor: Rebecca Cates
Table Sponsors: Multicare and Dazaifu, LLC.
Fund-an-Item brings in $9,300
The fund-an-item for this year’s auction was to support our efforts to build bridges between communities in the larger family of L’Arche. This money will specifically help us in the following ways:
-
Hosting Community Leader, Salvador Delgado from El Arca Queretaro (Mexico) for three weeks in May (and covering cost of his travel).
-
Sending our delegate Sarah Thomson to Kolkata, India for the International General Assembly, as well as helping us send a delegate from a community in Latin America.
-
Sending a Board Member to the Inculturation Workshop in Montreal, Canada.
-
Sending long-term assistant Diana Busch and core member Stacie Swanson on a special retreat together.
-
AND Helping us with a fiesta on L’Arche Farm & Gardens during our L’Arche Western Regional Gathering in June (celebrating the 80th birthday of L’Arche founder, Jean Vanier, while he is in town for a public talk).
